Breast Health Resources

The following national resources have a ton of great information about breast health.

  • Cancer.org: The American Cancer Society offers a very comprehensive site that can be used by doctors, patients, caregivers, family, and friends. It has information on all types of cancers including research and statistics.
  • Cancer.gov: The National Cancer Institute website has educational information for patients as well as the latest information on cancer research.
  • Nationalbreastcancer.org:  The National Breast Cancer Foundation is a great resource to educate yourself on breast cancer and breast health. They also have breast health outreach programs.
  • Breastcancer.org:  A comprehensive breast cancer resource with information surrounding breast cancer, treatment options, and day to day matters concerning living with breast cancer.
  • Dslrf.org: Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. Dr. Susan Love literally wrote the book on breasts. I received her Breast Book from a fellow survivor shortly after I was diagnosed. It covers every aspect of your breasts and also covers breast cancer and cancer treatment. Her website is also a great resource.
  • ww5.Komen.org:  The Susan G Komen website is another great resource that’s useful for patients, caregivers, friends, and family.
  • SistersNetworkInc.Org:  Sisters Network, Inc. is a great resource for African American survivors and co-survivors. They provide financial support as well as education through their survivor meetings and events.
  • Areyoudense.org:  The Are You Dense? site is dedicated to the issue of dense breasts. If you have dense breasts or want to work to get dense breast notification legislation passed in your state, this is the site for you.
  • Cancercenter.com:  The Cancer Treatment Centers of America are phenomenal in their integrative approach to treating cancer. Full disclosure – I am a patient there. Visit their site to learn what makes them different and contact them for a first or second opinion.
  • CDC.gov: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is a leader in nationwide efforts to ease the burden of cancer. The CDC provides a wealth of information and resources, including downloadable facts sheets. They also offer free or low-cost mammograms to those who qualify.
